IAQM VetClean tackles EHV1 equine killer virus with NTHJC sponsorship
IAQM VetClean is proud to announce our exclusive partnership with North Texas Hunter Jumper Club. In 2015, IAQM VetClean will provide the Hunter Derby winners at four events with its exclusive decontamination services for transport trailers. Dust carrying contaminants can wreak havoc on a horses respiratory health. The industry is now becoming aware that contaminants in dust compounds this issue ten fold.
From transport trailers to stalls to entire facilities, IAQM VetClean is the only green company that eliminates all biological, chemical and viral contaminants. There is a higher alert this year with the recent deaths of two horses in Galveston County linked a sometimes lethal strain of the herpes virus. EHV-1 can affect horses of all breeds and ages, and is spread via direct contact, indirect contact, and through the air. Traveling competitors intermixing animals at competitions is a major concern. These diseases can quarantine a barn, end a competition season, and potentially ruin a great reputation by default. The states with current EHV-1 quarantines or concerns are Texas, Virginia, New Jersey, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Idaho, and California.
The Hunter Derby winners of the NTHJC pre-selected event at the March 14, April 11, June 27 and Nov 14 competitions will receive a complete transport vehicle decontamination disinfection detail valued at over $1,700. In 2015, IAQM VetClean has already committed over $40,000 in services to express its commitment to the NTHJC and other organizations in the equine community.
